Guild of Antiquities

The Guild of Antiquities is an organization of scholars dedicated to discovery and truth. Their banner is known throughout the known world. If you’re looking for details on the local ruins, find the local chapter of the guild for the best information.

istory

The Guild itself was said to have been formed during the early days of the founding of Gisek. It started as an adventurer’s guild, sending explorers to notable ruins across the sea to document and survey for the Gisek Archives. In time, specialists appeared in their respective fields, and local chapters began to emerge across the world.

tructure

It is not clear how many souls are considered members of the guild, as chapters are relatively independent of one another due to the speed of communication and the influences of local customs. The semi-integration with military forces in certain locations also tends to obscure whether one is truly a guild member or simply an associate.

nemies & Allies

Being a guild of science and discovery, there are not many that would alienate themselves from such an organization. There are many rag-tag bands of brigands and looters whom call the guild their enemy, though these are small and inconsequential.

Guild members can be relied upon and considered an ally in dangerous environments so long as one’s intent is not that of destruction. They can be identified as a member by the clay crests they carry, which seem to contain enchantments unique to the guild. Be aware that these crests can be forged, and so cannot always be trusted, but the magic imbued within them cannot.

orld relations

Due to their relative pacifistic nature, they are not restricted as with mercenary bands such as the Order of the Diamond Eye. Many would see it as a boon of knowledge to welcome a chapter of the guild into their cities. As it stands, the guild works to educate native populations as well as document the surrounding archeological points of interest.

Military Relations

The guild has been known to integrate some of it’s brethren into the local military. This has benefited both parties as the martial factions are able to better appraise any bounties acquired through conquest, while the guild members may have exclusive access to restricted areas of interest. The level of integration varies from location to location.
