Shahar

Shahar, land of forgotten kingdoms of old, lies at the southwest edges of the known world. Although many civilizations rise and fall through the ages, Shahar has been known for it’s grand abandoned cities and remnants of a sprawling empire unrelated to the human conquests of the modern era. Strangely enough, many of the ruins would not accommodate bipedal races, and one shudders at site of the strange and alien structures deeper inland.

The overall size of the continent is massive, yet still not a match to The Great Expanse.

eography

The general majority climate and environment of the continent, whichever comprises the most, if diverse, make note and describe them below.

The Crown of Shahar

The Crown of Shahar is the uppermost peninsula of the continent. This region has been isolated for some time from the south due to a narrow inland sea. Notable in this area is the floating city of Lis, famed for it’s beautiful architecture and wealthy trading companies.

The Eastern Run

The Eastern Run is the southeast coast of Shahar proper, a stretch of inhospitable shoreline that extends for no less than two thousand miles from the the eastern peninsula to the southern tip of the continent. The only settlement in this area is the port of Three Stones, the last of the old colonial outposts that once dotted region.

Phenomena of the Moon

Crossing the Snag, within the continent of Shahar proper, moonlight wanes and bears no light regardless of weather. Further to the south among the vast rainforests no moon at all makes itself visible at night, giving way to blinding darkness until dawn. This phenomena appears to only exist above these forsaken lands, it’s cause currently unknown. Because of this, many expeditions into the southern jungles have made use of moonlight spells in order to provide the slightest visibility for protection.
